Kitchen Vent Hoods Question About Kitchen Vented Hood Roof Cap.?

Question about kitchen vented hood roof cap.? - kitchen vent hoods

He had an old microwave hood fan was in the kitchen and took the book and put in new furnace hood. Everything was going well until I learned that the air seems to come from outside, even when the fan is not running. I went on the roof and looked at the top of the roof ventilation and there is nothing to prevent the wind is blowing in the channel. How do I solve this problem?

See page 2 of Figure 3 in the installation section of the link provided. Shows the location of a series of 7 "brake on the vertical connection. They have a 7" buffer in a tent or a sheet metal shop and into the channel (installed about $ 8). Most use a system of bar weight can be adjusted so that the door is open for all to flow upward if the fan is running flop and closed at shutdown. This is very important for the proper functioning, but frankly, in situations of high winds, which can be absorbed. It is inevitable, but not heavy on the ground projects must occur. On the basis of their design, the seal is not 100% - which blocked the canal - but they greatly reduce the airflow.

Good luck!

There must be a pressure valve for the fan blade in the vagina or the mouth of the channel.
